January 9 th – Day 3

Pastor Johnny Killman

Meet Him With Everything

There are a few worse things when you are starting your day on the road than realizing you forgot

something at home. There have been many times when I am minutes away from my house and my wife

says, “I think I left I left my phone at the house.” For most of us, that is a death sentence. If you want to

find out how important something is, leave it at the house, wait a few minutes, and then ask yourself,

“Should I turn around and go get (insert an object here)?”

I have a ritual before I leave to go anywhere. I put my book bag on and say to myself, “phone, wallet,

keys. Phone, wallet, keys.” At the same time, I proceed to touch my side pockets and my back pockets. It

looks like I’m doing the macarena. This ensures that I never forget anything, so when I leave my home, I

do not have to turn around and do a SWAT entry through my front door because I am late for work.

I feel like I do this sometimes with my praise when I am headed to church. I bring my body, I bring my

money, I bring my smile, but somewhere on the way to the church building, I forget my praise. Whether

it be by complaint or by circumstance, I forget (of course, not on purpose) that God should receive my

best praise, my everything. Maybe you are reading this, and you forgot to bring your praise with you

today. Stop what you are doing, turn that car around, and go pick up that praise where you left it.

King David declared in Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Let

everything within you praise the Lord.” It is okay to misplace your praise but go back to that place and

time when you gave God your everything. Spend some time today reflecting on how you can take a

small step to help make sure you don’t forget to give God the praise He is truly worthy of.
