Overwhelmed
“I long to drink of you, oh God, to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your
presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you. My soul thirst, pants, and longs for the living
God. I want to come and see the face of God.” Psalm 42:1-2
We love the presence of God. The anointing of God, the fire of God, the glory of God. We can never get
enough. His presence changes us. He empowers us to accomplish purpose and change atmospheres. His
glory brings joy, peace, and transformation. Overwhelm us God, we want more! We want more of his
character in our lives so that others are drawn to want more of Him. We want more of His voice in our
cars. More of His glory in our spirit. More of Him in our minds and our emotions. More of Him in our
marriages, our families, our homes. More of His presence in our church, our community, or workplace.
More of his answers to our prayers. More of His praise in our mouth. More of His mercy and compassion
in our hands and feet. So, we pursue God, we seek him first. We fast, pray, and read His Word. We
desire Him above all else. We surround ourselves with others in the fruit of their encounters in His
presence.
God, we are grateful for all you have already given, but we long for more. God, you be at the heart of
everything we are and do. You have all our attention! Your heart is what we are living for. We want to
be completely overwhelmed in You, the living God!
